Since 1992, I have been professionally involved in the mental health sector as a counsellor, psychotherapist, Jungian analyst, supervisor, counselling course author, trainer and tutor, team development consultant, and as the co-ordinator/manager of group psychotherapy programmes.

My work is wide-ranging, so that I have built up a substantial body of experience through working in the following contexts:

My therapeutic style and training is based on psychodynamic principles and practice. This means it is important to me to provide you with a safe, empathic relationship through which you can develop as an individual at whatever stage of life. I work at least once weekly with clients and, when appropriate, more intensively.

My training includes mentalization-based therapy (MBT). MBT is a clinically tested therapy, with benefit to those struggling with depression, personality problems and relationship difficulties. Within short-term work, I can also offer solution-focused therapy. Supervision and reflective practice are a regular aspect of my work with other professionals, staff teams and organisations. I am a recognised provider with a major national private insurance company.

I am a member of and abide by the codes of ethics and good practice of the following organisations:
